How To: 3 Steps to Prepare Your Face for Make-Up
The best thing you can do for your skin is to to take care of it. When you have a clean canvas, you wouldn’t need a lot of make-up to hide flaws and make-up will serve to highlight your most beautiful features.
How to have a clean, moisturized face:
1. Gentle Cleansing. Keep skin free from build up and impurities by using a gentle cleanser morning and night. Cleansing should be done gently, in upward motion strokes. To prevent irritation, you should not scrub too hard, tug or pull your skin
Recommended Cleansers:
Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
2. Toning. Most people skip this step but you really shouldn’t. Toning removes excess dirt that your cleanser missed. Most importantly, toning puts your skin’s pH level back to it’s normal range. While cleansing opens up your pores to clean them, toning closes them. Remember also that you should look for toners that suit your skin type. Generally, avoid those that are alcohol-based as they dry out the skin.
Recommended Toners:
Dickinson’s All Natural Witch Hazel Toner
Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner
3. Moisturizing. Keep your skin soft and hydrated with a moisturizer that is compatable with your skin type. Make sure your daytime moisturizer contains SPF (at least SPF 30) to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays while you may choose a deep moisturizing cream for night time use.
Recommended Moisturizers:
Olay Total Effects Moisturizer
Avon Anew Retroactive Age Reversal Cream
